La Hacienda, Oil painting by Clina Polloni. This beautiful old house is located in the central part of Chile, in Pirque. Here is were most of the vineyards started with grapes that were brought from Europe by immigrants. The original house of the Viña Concha y Toro is very close. I did this painting from an old painting done by my great-grandfather in the 1800's. He used to paint on a peaceful summer afternoon after a delightful lunch in the company of the hostess, Carmela Subercaseaux Vicuña and her family.
This house was built with adobes, I hope that it wasn't damaged by the 8.8 earthquake that affected this part of Chile.
